About Kint Fit

What is semi-private personal training?

A coach leads a group of no more than 6 people through a 60-minute session, but each person follows an individualized program. You get your own loads, movement variations, and progressions, with the coach watching every set. It combines the attention of personal training with the energy and lower cost of a group, and your coach tracks your progress and holds you accountable to your goals. Details are on the semi-private training page.

What's the difference between personal training and semi-private training?

Personal training is one-on-one: the coach’s full attention for the whole session. Semi-private training uses the same assessment and individualized programming inside a coached group capped at 6 people, usually at a lower price per session. People with injuries, privacy needs, or goals that need close management often choose one-on-one; most other members do well in semi-private.

Do I need to already be fit to join?

No. Most members start with little or no gym background. Every new member is assessed first, and workouts are scaled so a beginner and an experienced lifter can train in the same session at their own level.

Do you offer nutrition coaching?

Yes. Kint Fit’s nutrition program is coach-led and built on a flexible system rather than a rigid diet. It includes meal plans, grocery lists, and recipes, and it can be added to either training option.

Where is Kint Fit located?

777 E. Thunderbird Rd., Suite 101, Phoenix, AZ 85022, on Thunderbird Road just east of 7th Street in North Phoenix, a few minutes from Moon Valley, North Mountain Village, and Sunnyslope. See the location page for a map and directions.

Is Kint Fit the cheapest gym in the area?

No. Kint Fit is a coached, higher-touch option rather than a big-box gym. Every member gets an assessment, an individualized program, coaching on every set, goal setting, and progress tracking. Members who want a place to train on their own are usually better served elsewhere; members who want accountability and results tend to stay.

How many days per week should I attend?

Two to four sessions per week is a common starting point for beginners, with recovery days in between. Many members settle at three. Frequency can increase over time as your recovery improves.

When should I expect to see results?

Many people notice changes in energy, movement quality, and strength within the first month. Visible body composition changes usually take longer and depend on consistency, nutrition, and sleep.

Strength Training Questions

How often should I strength train?

For most adults, two to three full-body strength sessions per week is a solid target, with at least one day between sessions for the same muscle groups. More frequency can help once recovery, technique, and schedule allow it, but two well-coached sessions per week tend to produce steady progress.

What's the best type of workout for someone over 40?

Progressive strength training tends to be the highest-value choice after 40, because muscle mass and bone density both decline with age unless they’re challenged. A program built around squats, hinges, presses, pulls, and carries, plus some conditioning, covers most needs. Coaching matters more at this stage, since technique and load selection have to account for old injuries and recovery capacity.

What are the benefits of strength training as you get older?

Research consistently links resistance training in older adults with better muscle mass and strength, bone density, balance, joint function, and metabolic health, along with lower fall risk. Many people also report better sleep, mood, and energy. The main requirement is that the program progresses over time rather than repeating the same weights indefinitely.

How do I lose fat without losing muscle?

Three things tend to matter most: keep strength training with challenging loads so the body has a reason to hold onto muscle, eat enough protein, and keep the calorie deficit moderate rather than extreme. Rapid crash dieting without resistance training often costs muscle along with fat. This is why Kint Fit pairs training with nutrition coaching.

How can I get stronger without spending hours in a gym?

Two or three focused 45-to-60-minute sessions per week can produce meaningful strength gains when they’re built around compound lifts, progressive loading, and a plan someone is tracking. Most wasted gym time comes from lack of structure rather than lack of hours. Coached semi-private sessions are designed to fit this window.

What should I look for in a personal trainer?

Look for an assessment before your first workout, a written program that changes as you progress, coaching on form during sets rather than just counting reps, and clear answers about why you’re doing each exercise. Ask about experience with people like you, whether that’s beginners, people over 40, or specific injuries. Read recent reviews to see whether members describe individualized attention.

What should I expect in a session?

Each session is 60 minutes and led by a coach. It starts with a warm-up for the day’s movements, followed by a briefing on the workout and proper form, the main work with coaching throughout, and a cool-down at the end.
